The International Youth Silent Film Festival is a competition for filmmakers age 20 and under to create a modern version of silent film, see it on the big screen with live accompaniment, and win prizes. Each filmmaker must choose one of the 10 pre recorded musical themes upon which to base the film. Themes are:
- Romance
- Action
- Horror
- Slapstick
- Mystery
- Science Fiction
- Hero
- Western
- Noir
- Discovery
