SmartFone Flick Fest (SF3) / Closing 1 August 2017

Entries are now open for the 3rd annual SmartFone Flick Fest (SF3), returning to light up Paddington’s Chauvel Cinema on Thursday 24 August 2017.

The festival is after short film entries, shot entirely on a phone or tablet, from Australia and around the world. 10 of the short films are then selected as finalists and screened at the Gala Final Awards Screening at Palace Chauvel Cinema in August. Also screened on the night are the Kids Flick Pick winning film and the winner of the #FILMBREAKER award for the first time filmmaker.

Submissions for the Festival are being accepted through www.sf3.com.au and will close on Tuesday 1 August, 2017.

SF3 Festival directors and founders Ali Crew and Angela Blake say they are excited to see the calibre of entries for this year’s fest.

This year sF3 are also introducing a new category, SF360. SF360 is home to 360 videos sent from around the world for SF3. 360 videos are recordings where a view in every direction is recorded at the same time, allowing viewers to not only watch an experience from any point of view, but also immerse themselves in this experience with a VR headset. Rules for entering a film in SF360 are the same as general submissions entries.
